‘Embarrassing’ Man United stars told ‘look in the mirror’ after source’s ‘loggerheads’ reveal

Paddy Kenny has told Man United players to “look in the mirror” after a run of poor performances.

The former Leeds United stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claims there are too many egos at Old Trafford.

As revealed by Football Insider on Saturday (1 January), Ronaldo and Fernandes are at loggerheads in the United dressing room, having failed to hit it off on the pitch this term.

A Man United source has revealed there have been arguments behind the scenes, with Fernandes struggling to cope with losing his status as United’s main man.

However, neither of the pair are fans of Rangnick’s high-pressing style of play.

Kenny pointed to the side’s draw at Newcastle on 27 December as evidence of the players’ shortcomings.

“I think the players are good enough but something isn’t right,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There are too many egos at the club. I don’t see anything like the old Man United the people who are currently there.

“They seem to be individuals rather than a team. It was an embarrassing performance against Newcastle.

“They were lucky to get a draw and we’re talking about a team who have only won once all season.

“The players need to look in the mirror. They haven’t been good enough for a while now.

“The players aren’t befitting of one of the biggest clubs in the world. It needs to change.”

Rangnick is yet to lose since taking charge at Old Trafford.

However, United have faced criticism for the level of their performances, especially in the draws against Newcastle and Young Boys.
