Thanks to illness, Mbappe has made just two Club World Cup outings for Real Madrid, but he scored an overhead kick against Dortmund on Saturday.

Meanwhile, taking to Instagram on Monday, 7 July, the France forward shared a series of photos captioned with a camera emoji.

Bellingham liked the post, while both the England midfielder and the Frenchman are set to play a key role for Alonso’s side against PSG.

Mbappe set to further excel under Alonso’s coaching

Football Insider verdict

Mbappe has already established a deserved reputation as one of the best attacking players in world football, and scored 43 goals in 56 appearances across all competitions last season.

But the 2018 World Cup winner is set to become even better under Alonso, who proved his ability to successfully coach forwards throughout his time with former club Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Madrid midfielder got the best out of Liverpool’s new man, Florian Wirtz, who scored 16 goals and produced 14 assists across all competitions last season.

Furthermore, Alonso successfully turned the previously less renowned Viktor Boniface into a clinical Bundesliga forward, who played a pivotal role as Leverkusen won the league and cup double in 2023/24.

The Spaniard’s work with the likes of Boniface demonstrates that he should be able to turn Mbappe into an even better striker, which is a frightening thought for La Liga defenders and Champions League opponents alike.
