Eric Dier one of six Tottenham stars set to go in ‘huge clear-out’ – expert
Six players could be on the way out of Tottenham in huge “clear out”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Spurs right-back Alan Hutton insisted Ange Postecoglou will have to ship out a load of players in order to make the new signings he wants.
Postecoglou was appointed as permanent successor to Antonio Conte and will be hoping to improve upon the London club’s eighth place finish from the 2022-23 season.
The Australian is faced with a myriad of issues to sort out, including the future of star striker Harry Kane as he enters the final 12 months of his deal.
The England international is attracting interest from Man United and Bayern Munich and could be on the move this summer.
When asked what Spurs need in the upcoming window, Hutton told Football Insider: “An absolute clear out.
“I think that is a huge part of it.
“I think it is going to be difficult for Ange because he needs to go through his whole squad and decide who he wants to keep.
“You think of some of the players who are still there who have been on loan, [Tanguy] Ndombele, record signing, [Giovani] Lo Celso, Harry Winks, these are guys that you do not even hear about.
“Then you look at the likes of [Davinson] Sanchez, [Eric] Dier, [Joe] Rodon, there are so many players within there that he will have to move on.
“Get money in for these guys because if you really want to put your stamp on this team you need to get some out to bring some in.“
