Everton braced for ‘ugly’ scenes as Richarlison talks confirmed – pundit

Things could get “ugly” between Richarlison and Everton this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Richarlison will find it difficult to move to a big club this summer.

Football Insider reported earlier this year (17 April) that the 25-year-old has told his agent to find him a new club this summer.

As quoted by the Daily Mail on Monday (30 May) while on international duty with Brazil, Richarlison revealed he had told Frank Lampard and the Everton board what he wants.

The forward, who scored 10 times in 30 Premier League games as the Blues narrowly avoided relegation this season, has a contract at Goodison Park until the summer of 2024.

Asked whether things between Richarlison and Everton could get ugly this summer, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes, it could do.

“He’s an ever-present in the Brazil squad so he’ll see these players in there playing at the highest level and he’s just been in a relegation battle.

“He’s a good player but I don’t think he’s good enough for a top-four side, I really don’t.

“He’s one of those players who managers will look at and think ‘I like him but he’s on the floor a lot, he can drift out of games a lot, he’s very lightweight.

“I’m not sure about what happens to him, to be honest. I’m sure Everton will not speak to anyone unless they get over £50mllion for him and I don’t see someone paying that, to be honest.

“He’s not a standout where clubs will say ‘We want to buy him at any cost’. He’s not at that good of a player, to be honest.”
