Everton could now sign Conor Coady for ‘nothing’ after journalist’s new reveal – pundit
Noel Whelan has told Everton to trigger their purchase option for Conor Coady “now” after his impressive start at the club.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, cited the 29-year-old’s blossoming relationship with fellow summer arrival James Tarkowski.
According to The Telegraph‘s Mike McGrath and John Percy (6 October), Everton will only have to pay £4.5million in order to keep Coady at the club on a permanent basis.

Sources have added to Football Insider that Wolves cannot recall the England international in the January window.
Coady has started the last seven Premier League games for Everton and scored a crucial goal last week (1 October) as Frank Lampard’s side recorded a 2-1 win over Southampton.
His partnership with Tarkowski has helped Lampard move away from the three-man defence which saved the Toffees from relegation last season.
Whelan insisted £4.5million is “nothing” as Coady can be a key man for “at least another three years”.
He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “It’s a no-brainer.
“If you’re going to trigger that, then do it now. He’s already proven his point.
“We can see how valuable he is already in that back line. Him and Tarkowski have grown a really good relationship and they’ve got two leaders there.

“They’re talking and organising.
“Coady has got international experience and quality, and that is nothing for someone who can be at the club for at least another three years.”
