Everton takeover: ‘Imminent Friedkin Group deal update’
The Friedkin Group remain on track to complete their imminent takeover of Everton, journalist Alan Myers has said.
However, an official announcement confirming the deal has been fully completed is thought unlikely to come today (Tuesday 17 December).
After a long period of speculation about the US-based group purchasing a 94% controlling stake in the club from Farhad Moshiri, it was reports last week revealed the Premier League had approved the deal [Sky Sports].
With things now only needing to be rubber-stamped by the division’s oversight committee, there is an expectation the takeover of Everton will be completed this week.
However, there may be a little more of a wait just yet, as when asked on Tuesday if it was the day for confirmation to be announced by a fan via social media, Myers replied: “Don’t think so”.
Despite that when asked by another about any further news, the reporter responded: “On track I believe.”
Everton fans should have little to worry about with Friedkin Takeover wait
It is clear that after so long, many fans of the Toffees are desperate to see this takeover confirmed and their club in new hands.
With things having dragged on for so long and football being a game where anything can change quickly, it appears they will not relax until the confirmation is officially issued.
Given how important this takeover is to Everton that feels understandable after the tough times the club have been through in the past few years.

Even so everything does seem to suggest that things will indeed be confirmed sooner rather than later, with just this one hurdle left to pass.
Of course, even once that is completed there will still be a lot of big decisions to be made that could have a major influence on the future of Everton, not least surrounding manager Sean Dyche.
That ensures that even once the takeover is completed, there will still be plenty of eyes fixed firmly on the actions of The Friedkin Group.
