Kieran Maguire: Everton takeover talks at new stage as details of Peter Kenyon mission emerge
Everton takeover talks have reached a more advanced stage after Peter Kenyon and his co-investors visited Finch Farm and Bramley Moore Dock.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the consortium’s Merseyside mission.
Former Man United and Chelsea powerbroker Kenyon and his American business partners are keen to acquire Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

Both parties have signed terms that give the consortium exclusivity in takeover negotiations.
The Athletic reported on Wednesday (22 June) that Kenyon personally visited the Toffees’ soon-to-be new stadium and training complex in recent days.
Maguire forecasts that, while there is still plenty to be done before a sale is agreed, the takeover is looking more and more likely.
“The very fact they have got heads of terms is indicative of negotiations moving from informal to quasi-formal,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“It is effectively allowing some form of scrutiny to the ongoing obligations of the club without committing either Moshiri to a sale or the Kenyon consortium to a purchase.
“It’s progress. It’s turning a corner, although it isn’t necessarily the corner in terms of securing an arrangement.
“It isn’t long until the heads of terms expire but that is in everyone’s interest because the longer the deadline, the more faff is created.”

Everton have posted combined annual losses of £370million in the last three years alone.
Moshiri is almost guaranteed to sell at a loss if he does indeed decide to abandon the project.
