‘Every player’ will try to quit Leeds United this summer after source’s Rodrigo reveal – pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed “every player” will try to leave Leeds United if they are relegated this season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said that from his experience in a team that gets relegated, every player will attempt to get out if a club is relegated to the Championship.
Leeds sit just outside of the relegation zone in 16th after a 1-1 draw with fellow relegation contenders Leicester City on Tuesday (25 April) and are only one point off the drop zone.
On 14 April, Football Insider revealed that the Whites are set to reach a verbal agreement with Rodrigo that he will be sold if the club are demoted to the Championship this season.
The 32-year-old has insisted he doesn’t want to play in the Championship and has already told the club that he wants to leave if they are relegated.
Hutton knows, from experience, the chaos of being at a relegated club.
“I have been at a club that has been relegated and trust me every single player tries to leave,” he told Football Insider.
“Everybody thinks ‘I am a Premier League player, I am not going to the Championship, I am going to try and leave’. Those are the words that come out of everyone’s mouth but does it happen? No it does not.

“At the end of the day there are contracts, other teams might not be interested in you so there is a whole load of factors.
“Ultimately the top players like Rodrigo will get picked off. The top teams will be hovering around and it is just about how much money they can squeeze out of it.“
In other news, Leeds United could now accept £25m offer for winger.
