Ex-striker tells Celtic to seal Wyke deal after offer submitted
Noel Whelan claims Charlie Wyke could be a short-term replacement for Odsonne Edouard at Celtic.
The former Aberdeen hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed a potential deal for aerial powerhouse Wyke is a “no brainer” for the Parkhead club.
Football Insider revealed on 16 June the Hoops are in talks with Wyke about a long-term deal and the latest from a Celtic source is that he has been offered terms.

Sunderland announced their retained list released last month and confirmed they had offered their top goalscorer a new deal.
However, Wyke and Sunderland are yet to agree terms after he scored 30 goals in 53 appearances last season.
On 8th June, this site revealed Odsonne Edouard has told friends he is set to leave Parkhead this summer.
Whelan claims Wyke can be a like-for-like replacement for Edouard after watching him play on numerous occasions.
“He gives you that huge presence up front,” Whelan told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“He had a great spell at Bradford that got him the move to Sunderland in the first place.
“I’ve seen him many times, he’s a handful and can bring other players into play.
“He’s very dangerous from wide areas and gives Celtic a different option.
“He could be a short-term replacement for Edouard, who may be leaving as well.

“Wyke is your focal point if Celtic lose Edouard. It’s a no brainer. Celtic also won’t be losing out too much if that transfer doesn’t work out.
“Strikers win you matches and he could be a big asset to Celtic with their wingers.”
