‘Exceptional’ McGinn tipped to ‘answer’ Man United call and be wearing the shirt soon – pundit

Kevin Campbell has claimed “exceptional” Aston Villa star John McGinn possesses the “quality” to play for Man United.

The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 27-year-old is “priceless” to the Midlands club.

According to the Sun (5 December), McGinn is on the wishlist at Man United as new boss Ralf Rangnick looks to stamp his authority at Old Trafford.

The report claims the midfielder’s ability to play in a high-pressure system has been noted by the German.

McGinn has three and a half years remaining on his contract at Villa Park after penning new terms in December of last year.

Campbell suggested the 42-cap Scotland international would be willing to make the Old Trafford switch if Man United “came calling”.

“He’s exceptional in that midfield,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“He’s a workhorse, he’s a battler – and he can finish as well when he gets the opportunity.

“McGinn is absolutely crucial to Aston Villa – but when Manchester United come calling, you answer.

“Can you see him in a Man United shirt? I think absolutely, I can – he’s certainly got the quality, but they are going to be linked with so many players.

“That being said, he’s a player that Aston Villa cannot afford to lose – he’s priceless.”

McGinn has scored four goals and registered three assists in 14 Premier League games for Aston Villa this season.
