Who is Tommi O’Reilly?

O’Reilly has been in Aston Villa’s academy since he was seven years old.

The winger was quick to impress in his youth and was part of the side that won the FA Youth Cup in 2021.

Over the years, O’Reilly has featured in multiple Premier League matchday squads but has not made his debut in the English top-flight.

His sole appearance for Villa’s first team came in the 2023-24 campaign, as he came off the bench in the 1-1 draw to Zrinjski Mostar in the Europa Conference League.

Since then, he has been loaned out to Real Union, Shrewsbury Town, MK Dons and Crewe Alexandra.

The latter club have been by far his most successful loan move yet, as he looks to win the first promotion of his career this season.

His talent was on show yet again on Saturday when he picked up two assists in Crewe’s 2-1 victory over Tranmere to once again boost their promotion hopes.

Therefore, it is clear that O’Reilly still has a lot of potential as the 22-year-old looks to continue his development in the EFL and become the next big star on the wing.

However, it remains to be seen if he can make the step up to League One or the Championship if he gets a move elsewhere this summer.
