Exclusive: Liverpool working on two signings this week

Liverpool are working on two signings this week before the transfer window closes, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League giants want a midfield anchorman and a centre-back who can also operate at full-back.

Liverpool are now prioritising a left-sided centre-back who can provide cover for Virgil Van Dijk and also operate at left-back.

Football Insider revealed that the club also want someone who can be a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson, with Adrien Truffert being on their radar.

However, Liverpool are prepared to wait until January or even next summer for the right defensuve player.

On the other hand, signing a number six is the priority after the deal to sign Martin Zubimendi collapsed.

Out of the two deals, sources believe the midfield signing is most likely to happen.

It’s an area of the team that Arne Slot is desperate to strengthen, providing further strength to his midfield options.

Football Insider reported that Liverpool have been “besieged” with loan offers for Stefan Bajcetic this summer, but the Reds aren’t willing to let him leave until a new signing is made.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool are also plotting a late-window move for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is a long-term target.

The Napoli midfielder would be seen as a marquee signing for the Reds, which the club are keen to do after missing out on multiple top targets this summer.
