Expert: Adama Traore to join Tottenham this week – ‘Paratici loves him’

Adama Traore could join Tottenham on loan in the final hours of deadline day (1 September).

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham have made seven signings this summer but have been inactive in the transfer market since the capture of Destiny Udogie on 16 August.

Traore, 26, has only made two Premier League appearances this season, both off the bench, and played no part as his side drew 1-1 with Newcastle United on Sunday (28 August).

Football Insider revealed last month (13 July) that Wolves will accept a £10milion bid for Traore this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Wenham claims a deal could be done in the final hours of the transfer window.

“The only deal I could realistically see, if the deal is good for all parties, I could see us taking Adama Traore on loan,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“We liked him so much last summer and Paratici loves him for whatever reason. If Wolves, at the last hour, said that we can take him on loan and split the salary 50-50, I think we would take him.

“We would take him then involve him wherever we can, basically. That’s the only sort of deal I can see happening before the window closes.”

Conte and Paratici were close to landing the lightning-quick ace in January – and reportedly planned to transform him into a right wing-back.

The winger made 17 appearances for Barcelona while on loan at the club last season.
