Expert: Alfie Devine agreeing Tottenham transfer as news confirmed
Alfie Devine is racing to return to full fitness so he can secure a move away from Tottenham in January.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Devine, 18, missed the start of the season through injury after failing to secure a move away from Spurs in January.
On 6 September, Tottenham announced that Devine had signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Wenham is delighted amid the latest on Spurs’ young stars.
“Yeah, some good wins for England as their youth squads went away to play in some tournaments,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“We had players in both squads. It’s more silverware for Dane Scarlett, Jamie Donley and Alfie Dorrington. I was really happy to see him recalled to the England Under-21s.
“There had been a period where a new manager came in who didn’t fancy him, having always been involved from Under -15s and Under-16s.
“I’m pleased he has finally been recalled because it is well-deserved. The other bit of good news was that Alfie Devine has made his return from injury for our Under-21s.
“I was really pleased to see him come off the bench to feature. That gives us a really good option and hopefully Alfie can get his fitness back and secure a loan away from the club in January after signing his long-term deal under 2027.”

Devine made 22 appearances for the various Spurs youth sides last season, scoring 11 goals.
He is the club’s youngest-ever goalscorer after he netted on his first-team debut in a 5-0 FA Cup victory at non-league Marine in January 2021.
