Expert backs Carney Chukwuemeka to agree Aston Villa deal after source’s update
Aston Villa and Carney Chukwuemeka could reach a compromise over signing a new deal.
That’s according to former Villa boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider amid the latest on the youngster’s future.
Sources told Football Insider on 18 July that he is demanding an extraordinary salary of around £100,000-a-week.

It comes amid a stand-off over a potential new contract for the 18-year-old with his current deals set to expire in less than 12 months.
After turning down the club’s latest offer, Villa omitted Chukwuemeka from their pre-season tour.
However, McLeish claims Aston Villa and Chukwuemeka could come to a compromise over a new deal.
“Steven is obviously trying to make his mark there,” McLeish told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild
“He only wants to deal with players that are 100% behind the project. For me, this is a guy at 18 who is insisting on £100,000-a-week.
“If he is at the level of a player who is getting £100,000-a-week, then he deserves that money if everyone else is getting it.
“But he hasn’t got all of the answrs yet. He is still a young guy just learning the business. I would have thought thaty they could come to some kind of amicable agreement with Aston Villa.

“I always feel youngsters want too much too soon. Just be calm and my advice would be to learn and learn the next steps.
“If it’s a case of the agent asking for the money then, well, we know what agents are like.”
