Expert backs Leeds stance after source’s Kalvin Phillips transfer update
Leeds United can demand £50million for Kalvin Phillips amid interest from Man City.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s future.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday (13 June), City have made a bid to sign Phillips, 26, with Leeds understood to be open to selling for around £50million.

Significantly, a recruitment source has told this site (15 June) the defensive midfielder has told his boyhood club he wants to join the Premier League champions.
Kenny claims £50million would be an appropriate fee for Phillips.
“You are only worth what people will pay for you,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If Man City are prepared to pay £50million then that’s what he is valued at.
“He’s an England international so that needs to be taken into account.
“Since he came back from injury, I don’t think he has been as good as he was before.
“Whether that has affected him or whether his confidence has gone because of that injury, I don’t know.
“Maybe he isn’t back up to speed yet to Man City have to be careful in signing him.
“£50million is probably a fiar price tag for me.”

City are in the market for a new midfielder following Fernandinho’s decision to leave this summer.
Guardiola currently has the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Rodri to call upon in midfield.
