Expert demands Farhad Moshiri statement amid Everton takeover latest – ‘get it sorted’

Farhad Moshiri must release a statement regarding his intentions to sell Everton.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about a possible takeover at Goodison Park.

A collective of American investors led by former Man United and Chelsea executive Peter Kenyon signed an exclusivity agreement last month amid negotiations to purchase the Toffees.

However, as relayed by The Athletic on 5 July, Peter Kenyon’s consortium have released a statement saying that they remain interested in purchasing the club.

This came after current owner Moshiri has publicly said that the talks are dead in the water.

Kenny insists Moshiri must now make a statement on the club’s situation with only one senior signing through the door this summer.

“It’s not good, is it? Especially with Everton only just staying up last year,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They have all this turmoil. Moshiri is saying the deal is off, Kenyon is saying it’s still alive. What is it? On or off?

“Get it sorted. It is not good for the club or the fans. I’m fed up of when things like this happen. Have you seen the stuff with the guy trying to buy Birmingham City?

“You need to know where the club stands. Moshiri is either selling it or he’s not.

Some statement has to come out from Moshiri saying whether he wants to keep the club or sell it.”
