Expert: Richarlison is ‘angry’ as Tottenham footage emerges

Richarlison is “angry” as he looks to atone for his desperate debut Tottenham campaign, according to Alan Hutton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs right-back said the 25-year-old was in need of a “big performance” at the weekend.

As shown on Sky Sports (11 March), the Brazilian had the ball in the back of the net against Nottingham Forest but the goal was ruled out for a marginal offside following a VAR check.

Antonio Conte’s side went on to win the game 3-1, thanks to a Harry Kane double and a third goal from Heung-min Son with Richarlison bagging the assist.

Richarlison has scored just two goals for Tottenham since his arrival from Everton last summer, both of which were in the Champions League.

As quoted by the Guardian (10 March), Conte said the striker’s season has been “no good”, following the player’s own comments about his poor performances since joining Spurs.

When asked if Richarlison’s goal was rightfully disallowed on Saturday, Hutton told Football Insider:It is difficult, we are talking about fractions.

It was a lovely through ball from [Oliver] Skipp. I think Richarlison needed a big performance.

He did have one, had a couple of assists. He plays with that chip on his shoulder, he looked angry, he was just desperate for something to happen.

It was a shame the goal did not stand, it was very tight but marginally just offside.
