Expert shares ‘massively concerning’ Tottenham transfer verdict as Joe Rodon deal all but done

Tottenham must make offloading the likes of Tanguy Ndombele their primary concern over the next week.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Once again, Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks were omitted from the Spurs squad that lost 1-0 to AS Roma on Saturday (30 July) after being told earlier in the window that they are not in Antonio Conte’s plans.

Sources told Football Insider (30 July) that Joe Rodon was having a medical at Rennes this weekend ahead of a loan move to the French club, while Japhet Tanganga is in talks to join AC Milan.

However, after a lack of concrete updates on exits for Ndombele. Lo Celso, Reguilon and Winks, Wenham is concerned.

“This is massively concerning,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“The four who were set out at the beginning of the window and told ‘we do not want you, we want you to go’, there seems to be no interest in any of them.

“You have 14-year-old kids at Villarreal making up lies for numbers on social media about Lo Celso but it’s not happening.

“These players are still at Tottenham every game. Winks, Reguilon, Ndombele, there is no interest. You have journalists claiming Ndombele is going to Galatasaray. He is not going to Galatasaray.

“There is no chance that Ndombele sees himself playing for Galatasaray. He saw Tottenham as a stepping stone to the big clubs.

“Going back to Lyon was one thing but he is not going to Galatasaray. That has got to be Tottenham’s primary concern this week, making progress.

“We are losing Rodon who is at least semi-useable. These players are not useable for us anymore. Ndombele and Lo Celso have not been usable since day one.

“The other two, Reguilon is a very frustrating player, he hasn’t improved at all.

Winks, we have four central midfielders who are significantly better than him. It’s harsh but that’s how it is.”
