Expert shares ‘really exciting’ verdict after confirmed Tottenham academy news

The Tottenham academy has a “really exciting” opportunity with the club set to compete in next season’s UEFA Youth League.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Spurs’ return to the Champions League means their academy will also return to the UEFA Youth League next season.

The competition includes Under 19s sides from all of the teams who have qualified for that season’s edition of the Champions League.

Wenham insists this will benefit the academy to no end.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for our players,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I have previously watched our youth sides play away at Barcelona and Real Madrid because the games are usually played on the same night.

“It will give our academy a real incentive, something to work towards.

“The players who are available for these games will be working so hard to be picked because it is such a good experience.

“It is also a great place to showcase your talent. I’ve seen Skipp, Tanganga, Parrott and White play in those games and really impress.

“So, hopefully, some of our other top talent, the likes of Jamies Donley, can stick around and take this opportunity to impress.”
