Expert suggests four Liverpool sales after £12m Neco Williams news – ‘wow’
Noel Whelan has claimed Liverpool could sell “three or four” fringe stars such as Neco Williams in order to boost their transfer budget this summer.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the 21-year-old has no future at Anfield despite a “fantastic” spell at Fulham.
A Craven Cottage source told this site on Saturday (14 May) that the Championship winners have registered their interest in a permanent deal for Williams.

It is understood that Liverpool value the Wales international, who is under contract until June 2025, at around £12million.
Whelan suggested the Merseysiders could boost their summer war chest by trimming the fat when the season finishes.
“He’s done a fantastic job at Fulham,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He was shown a lot of trust by Marco Silva and Jurgen Klopp. He’s repaid it by playing his part in the title win.
“He’s well worthy of that £12million price tag.
“I think he put himself on a platform with his performances at Liverpool over the past few seasons. I just can’t see him having a future in that red shirt – for sure.
“If they can get that kind of money for three or four players on the fringe like Williams, wow…
“That could be a nice little boost to the transfer budget.”

Football Insider revealed back in March that Williams was keen to turn his loan spell permanent if Fulham were promoted.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino are examples of other out-of-favour stars attracting interest ahead of the summer.
