Expert: ‘The sky is the limit’ at Tottenham as ‘insane’ financial claim made

The sky is the limit in terms of finances at Tottenham after a series of “crazy” updates.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham are starting to reap the benefits of moving to their new stadium following a full season of fans being able to attend home games.

Wenham insists the amount of money Spurs’ stadium can generate is “insane”.

“Tottenham have this stadium that brings in so much money,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“People are arriving two hours before kick-off and leaving two hours after. People spend all of their hard-earned cash in that stadium.

“People are buying the merchandise and investing in the club because they are happy with what they are seeing on the pitch.

“When you are happy as a supporter, you are more likely to spend money on the club.

“For the Arsenal game, I saw a figure that claimed Tottenham brought in between £2million and £3million on the night in terms of gate receipts, merchandise, alcohol and food and beverages.

“I mean, that is just insane. This is happening when the stadium is full of rugby fans and we aren’t even there, it’s crazy.

“The sky is the limit for Tottenham in terms of finance at the moment.

The money looks to be reinvested into the playing staff, as was promised when we moved stadium.”
