Expert: Tottenham could make Antonio Conte announcement ‘today’ after source’s update
Tottenham could announce they have extended Antonio Conte’s contract by a further 12 months “at any point”.
That is according to Spurs expert John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Conte has recently claimed, as quoted by Football.London on 18 October, that “my contract is not in this moment important”.

As revealed by Football Insider on 8 October, Tottenham are in talks with Conte over an extension that would be worth in excess of £20m – equivalent to around £400,000-a-week – and make him the best-paid manager in the Premier League.
Jamie Redknapp, speaking on Sky Sports (23 October), has suggested the uncertainty around the Italian’s future could be contributing to the current negative feeling around Spurs.
However, Wenham insists there are no issues with the contract as Spurs can extend it by a further year at any point.
“I disagree with this entirely,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There is no Antonio Conte contract situation. Tottenham have the option to extend the option by a further year. I don’t know how people keep missing out on this.
“It’s a vital ingredient and fact to a really important thing that people love to talk about. At any point today, Tottenham could email Conte and tell him that they have extended the contract.

“You now have a deal to run until the end of next season. I have seen some reports, I think the first one was from Football Insider, that Tottenham are actually offering him a bigger deal on more money.
“There is no mass issue because Tottenham can extend the contact at any point. It’s not hard to find that out.”
