Fast-track him to the first-team: Rangers fans blown away by 20-year-old display v France

Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie enjoyed a fantastic season on-loan with Berwick Rangers last term, winning him a call-up to the Scotland Under-21 squad for this summer’s Toulon Tournament – and Gers fans were blown away by his performance in the 1-0 win over France on Wednesday.

McCrorie was making his debut for the Under-21s in the clash with the hosts and pulled off a string of fantastic saves as West Brom’s Oli Burke scored the only goal of the game.

Gers fans were delighted by the youngster’s performance – with one fan saying he is the “future number one” at Ibrox.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

McCrorie is yet to make his first-team debut with the Light Blues but recently signed a new-four-year deal to extend his stay with the Ibrox giants.

After watching twin brother Ross make a name for himself in the first-team, Robby will be desperate to follow suit and make the breakthrough under Steven Gerrard.

With Allan McGregor, Wes Foderingham, Jak Alnwick and Liam Kelly currently ahead of him in the pecking order for first-team games at Ibrox, McCrorie may find himself having to go out on loan again to get regular games next season and continue his development.
