Fred has played his last game for Man United after source’s reveal – pundit

Fred has potentially played his last game for Man United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton suggested Erik ten Hag may look to upgrade on Fred this summer.

The 30-year-old is entering the final year of his contract at Old Trafford but as quoted by the Daily Mail (5 June) said he “doesn’t know” if he will be a United player next season.

On 3 June, this site revealed that the Reds Devils will consider offers for the Brazilian in the summer window, with Fulham believed to be interested in his services.

Football Insider has learned that whilst United would allow Fred to leave the club if they receive the right offer, they are happy to keep him as part of the squad for the upcoming campaign.

This site has also revealed that Ten Hag’s side have agreed personal terms with Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount ahead of the summer window.

Hutton suggested Fred might have played his last game for United.

“I think it is possibly time up,” he told Football Insider.

I like him as a player, he works so hard, gives you 110 per cent. I think the midfield has been relatively settled since Casemiro came in.

I think if Mount comes in he kind of shares that load.

Chelsea

It has been difficult for Fred, he is not going to score you a barrel-load of goals so you are wondering if there is the option for a possible upgrade. If so then you have to ship people out.

I am wondering if Ten Hag is now thinking along those lines, that he wants fresh blood in. But to do that you have to lower your numbers.
