Frimpong, Szoboszlai react to Kerkez’s Liverpool training ground update
Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai reacted to a training ground update from Liverpool teammate Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez joined from Bournemouth this summer after much of the season was dominated by rumours of his potential move to Anfield.
The Hungarian enjoyed a breakout season with the Cherries last term and his move to Merseyside made perfect sense, given Andy Robertson has begun to slow down performance-wise and is moving into the last year of his contract.
Real Madrid showed interest in Kerkez before his move to Liverpool, but it was not enough to sway the former AC Milan fullback and Los Blancos have instead signed former Man United defender Alvaro Carreras.

Milos Kerkez shares training ground update
Kerkez took to Instagram after Liverpool’s first pre-season friendly, a 3-1 win over Preston North End, to share two photos of himself working out at the Reds’ training ground.
The post was liked by teammates Szoboszlai and Frimpong, showing support for the young left-back.
Liverpool set for new era of fullbacks
Football Insider Verdict
Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were a trendsetting duo that came to define much of Liverpool’s success.
But with the Scotsman seemingly on his last legs and the Englishman in the Spanish capital, Arne Slot’s side worked quickly and efficiently to bring in a new set of defenders to flank Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
Frimpong and Kerkez will operate slightly differently from their predecessors. Both are very much cut from the same mould, focusing on using their electric pace to go past their man, and both like to prioritise attacking.
In the Reds’ first pre-season game, the pair began on the bench and were introduced in the later stages, but showed flashes of what they will bring to the defending Premier League champions.
What will be interesting to see is whether Slot looks to curtail some of their desires to move forward, or whether the Dutchman lets both his fullbacks loose and has a holding midfielder drop back to cover for them.
Whatever the former Feyenoord chooses to do, his side has two of the most coveted wide defenders in world football and Liverpool will be a lot of fun to watch again this season as a consequence.
Elsewhere at Anfield, the Reds have tabled a huge £130million bid for Alexander Isak, Liverpool News revealed.
