‘Get me back on the bus’ – Rangers fans rage as attacker starts v Celtic

Rangers take on Celtic in the second Old Firm clash of the season and Graeme Murty has made two changes to his starting XI – but it’s the inclusion of attacking midfielder Niko Kranjcar that has caused fans on Twitter to rage.

Eduardo Herrera and Ryan Jack have missed out while Daniel Candeias and Josh Windass return to the side after missing the 2-0 win over Motherwell.

Rangers confirmed their starting XI in a Tweet posted by their official Twitter account.

The Gers currently trail their bitter rivals by 11 points going into the final game before the Scottish Premiership stops for its winter break.

Fans are worried that Croatian attacker Kranjcar doesn’t have the legs anymore after struggling in his previous Old Firm appearance at Celtic Park and being hooked at half-time.

Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

Kranjcar’s Rangers career has been disrupted by injury with the Croat missing a big chunk of last season after a cruciate ligament injury.

The 33-year-old has made nine appearances so far this season but is yet to get his name on the scoresheet.

Murty is the only Rangers boss to have avoided defeat against Brendan Rodgers’ side in the league since the Gers returned to the top flight last season.
