‘Gundogan to cause end of Guardiola at Man City’ – Fans furious
Pep Guardiola’s obsession with Ilkay Gundogan will be the “end of him” at Man City after the draw with Brentford, fans have claimed.
City were held to a 2-2 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium, despite leading 2-0 until the 82nd minute, thanks to a Phil Foden brace.
Brentford mounted a dramatic late comeback, with Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard scoring in the final moments to secure a point. The result leaves City in sixth place in the Premier League table.
Pep Guardiola faced criticism from fans for his substitution decision, bringing Gundogan on in the 76th minute. Just six minutes later, they conceded.
Fans are concerned about this constant substitution and are raising questions about the tactical choice during a crucial phase of the game.
Man City fans are frustrated with Guardiola and Gundogan this season
City haven’t been the same dominant force they usually are, grappling with both on-pitch and off-pitch issues.
A recent controversy involves captain Kyle Walker, who was left out of the squad after expressing a desire to leave mid-season [Sky Sports]. That’s a decision that hasn’t gone down well with supporters who are branding him “a disgrace”.
Gundogan, one of the more experienced players, has also drawn criticism. His performances since returning at 34 have been disappointing, especially as he’s struggled to fill the gap left by the injured Rodri.

As a result of his poor displays, the club are now actively exploring options to bring in a new midfielder to bolster their options.
Frustration is mounting, with fans blaming both the midfielder and the manager. One supporter warned that Guardiola’s “reputation will be ruined” if he continues to rely on Gundogan, while another claimed his “loyalty to Gundogan has been a big part of the problems.”
