Harry Kane ‘will be playing at Tottenham next season’ after new twist – Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Tottenham striker Harry Kane is likely to sign a new contract with the club after being “priced out” of a move elsewhere.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 29-year-old should not make a move to reported suitors Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

According to French outlet Le Parisien (18 June), PSG want to make Kane their marquee signing of the summer window.

Man United and Chelsea have been widely linked with the England captain, but interest has reportedly cooled with Tottenham not willing to sell to a Premier League rival.

The transfer saga surrounding Kane is complicated by his precarious contract situation – with the striker having just 12 months left to run on his Spurs deal.

He scored 30 goals in 38 Premier League games in the 2022-23 campaign, but that tally was not enough to help Tottenham qualify for European football.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I wouldn’t go to PSG if I was him.

“I feel for Kane because he has been priced out of a move to Man United, who are going to move on to other targets.

“He’s not going to end up at a club in England, and I don’t think Real Madrid will pay the money for him.

“I think he’ll be playing for Spurs next season.

“It wouldn’t surprise me, to be honest, if he ends up signing a new contract.”

Tottenham

Football Insider revealed on Monday (19 June) that new Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to add a wide forward to his ranks this summer.

Chelsea are set to beat their London rivals to the signing of Villarreal star Nicolas Jackson – who fits the profile the Australian wants to bring to Spurs.
