Harry Maguire sends heartfelt Man United message – ‘I’m back home’

Harry Maguire was left emotional in a message to fans as he made an early return to Old Trafford ahead of the summer break.

While most Man United players are away on holiday after a difficult campaign, Maguire has already reported back to the club, making an unexpected early return.

United endured a hugely disappointing season, finishing 15th in the Premier League and falling short in the Europa League final with a defeat to Tottenham. While Ruben Amorim was under serious sack pressure by supporters, the club’s hierarchy are standing by the Portuguese coach for now.

However, Maguire was one of the few bright spots for Man United in an otherwise forgettable campaign. After being sidelined earlier in the season by Erik ten Hag, he found a new lease of life under Amorim, re-establishing himself as a key figure and leading from the back.

Now, he made an earlier than expected return to club in an update to the fans.

Man United in contract talks with Maguire after standout season

Despite United’s difficult season, Maguire’s personal turnaround hasn’t gone unnoticed, and his connection to the club remains strong.

Football Insider revealed on 7 May that Man United are preparing to open contract talks with Maguire following his impressive performances.. His current deal runs until June 2026, following a one-year extension agreed during the January window.

This comes after Football Insider reported in January that Maguire was set for sit-down talks with manager Amorim regarding his future at the club.

The 32-year-old is believed to be keen on staying at Old Trafford long term and after several years filled with uncertainty, he has re-established himself as a key part of Amorim’s plans — and one of the squad’s most experienced and dependable figures.
