Harry Maguire told to quit Man United after source’s Aston Villa reveal – pundit

Harry Maguire has been advised to leave Man United in this summer transfer window.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Aston Villa defender Alan Hutton has claimed that leaving Old Trafford could help reignite Maguire’s career.

Football Insider exclusively revealed on Sunday (18 June) that Maguire had a decision to make on his Man United future this summer as several clubs at home and abroad chase his signature.

It is believed the 30-year-old will not be short of would-be suitors – with Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle and overseas clubs all interested.

However, Football Insider also revealed on Friday (16 June) that he is keen to impress in pre-season at Man United despite his lack of involvement in the 2022-23 campaign.

With Maguire’s future at United hanging in the balance, Hutton believes that a move away will help the defender find his best form.

“it had been a difficult season for him,” He told Football Insider.

I think he’s a really good football player, he has just went through a lot within a season and had a real dip in confidence, but sometimes a break can change that.

“The pressure being Manchester United captain is quite high ,so sometimes moving away from that, and getting yourself out from that pressure can, can really lift you again.

“I think a move would do him the best of good if I’m totally honest and he can just have a clean break from Manchester United and we’ll probably start to see the best of them again.”
