Harvey White: Tottenham cancelled starlet’s loan move with 1 hour to go on deadline day – Insider

Tottenham decided to keep Harvey White at the club for the rest of the season with just an hour of deadline day remaining.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

As per Dan Kilpatrick of the Evening Standard, Hull, Luton, Sunderland and Portsmouth were interested in taking the midfielder on loan in Janaury.

Wenham revealed on 8 October that Tottenham turned down loan offers for White last summer and he expected him to go during January.

After featuring on the bench during Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Brighton on Saturday (5 February), Wenham now claims Tottenham will have had a deal agreed with a club that just required signing off during the final stages of deadline day.

“From what I’m told, Tottenham had a loan deal agreed for White,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Right up until one hour to go on deadline day, something was pencilled in.

“I don’t think Tottenham could believe their luck that they got rid of Lo Celso, Ndombele and Alli.

“We know that was the aim but in reality, I never thought all three would go.

“So no were are down three midfielders and I think that was unexpected.

“White is the most advanced of our academy players and to work with the first team for the next six months might be the best for him.

“He will be in there every day working with Hojbjerg and Bentancur which is exciting.”

White has made two senior appearances for Tottenham.

He has made 20 appearances for the Under 23s this season, scoring seven goals and chipping in with seven assists.
