‘Here we go’ – Joelinton sends message to Bruno Guimaraes amid Newcastle controversy

Joelinton has sent a new message to Bruno Guimaraes on social media as the pair jetted off on Newcastle United’s pre-season tour of Asia.

Eddie Howe’s squad will fly to Singapore and then South Korea, where they will face Arsenal, a K-League All-Star team, and Tottenham between 27 July and 3 August.

However, their plans have been overshadowed by controversy surrounding the tour after Alexander Isak was left at home amid ongoing speculation surrounding his future at St James’ Park.

Since then, reports have claimed Isak wants to leave Newcastle after deciding not to be involved in the Magpies’ pre-season plans. [David Ornstein]

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 18 July that Liverpool could sign Isak if he pushes for a move away from St James’ Park, regardless of signing Hugo Ekitike.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Newcastle believe Liverpool are trying to unsettle Isak after they made public their interest in his signature.

Joelinton shares Newcastle message amid transfer frustrations

While frustrations continue surrounding what has been a disappointing transfer window at St James’ Park, the players have jetted off to Singapore on the first leg of their tour.

Alongside Isak’s uncertainty, the Magpies have missed out on a number of key targets including the likes of Joao Pedro, Bryan Mbeumo and more recently Hugo Ekitike.

However, they have kept hold of their star midfield trio in Joelinton, Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali despite speculation that they could be split up.

Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Newcastle are well-placed to keep the trio as some of the first names on Howe’s team sheet.

Now, taking to Instagram, Joelinton shared a new post alongside his teammate captioned “Here we goo” as they joined the Magpies’ pre-season tour.

Eddie Howe eyes two new signings after double deal hijack

Despite the speculation about Isak’s future, Newcastle are still making plans to strengthen Howe’s squad before the Premier League season begins.

Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Newcastle want a new goalkeeper and centre-forward and are holding talks over deals behind the scenes.

After missing out on deals for Ekitike and potentially James Trafford, they have set their sights on alternative targets and are making advances in discussions.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 22 July that Man City could sign Trafford from Burnley if they lose Ederson amid interest from Galatasaray.
