‘He’s a coward’ – Liverpool fans blast ‘diabolical’ Ryan Gravenberch after what he did vs Wolves
Liverpool fans are fuming with Ryan Gravenberch after his lacklustre performance in their 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.
Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by the Premier League’s bottom club at Molineux after a dull game sparked into life in the closing stages.
Wolves substitute Rodrigo Gomes fired the hosts into the lead in the 78th minute before Mo Salah got Liverpool back on terms shortly after.
Arne Slot’s side then looked the more likely to win it late on, but Andre scored the winner for Wolves in added-time to leave the visitors stunned.
Liverpool fans have slammed Gravenberch for what he has produced on the pitch in recent weeks, and this was another lethargic showing from the Dutchman on a damaging night for the Reds.

Gravenberch has been a reliable midfield operator for the Reds in recent years, and was named in the PFA’s Premier League Team of the Year after helping fire his side to the title in 2024-25.
Slot has trusted him to deliver time and time again, but his constant game time looked to be catching up on him against Wolves.
The 23-year-old was booked pretty early on for a poor tackle on Joao Gomes, and was arguably lucky not to have been sent off after committing four fouls in the first half alone.
Gravenberch’s lethargy allowed Wolves’ midfielders to stop most attacks at source, and he failed to win any of his six attempted ground duels before being taken off at the break for Curtis Jones.
Liverpool fans slammed him on X for the showing, with one posting to say: “Most of our team have had a bad season, but god how bad is Gravenberch? So bad it’s hard to watch. He’s a coward. Can’t tackle, pass (or) shoot…surprised his boots are on the right feet.”
Another said: “Ryan Gravenberch just isn’t what Liverpool need for a starter. It’s one of them harsh truths but, he is so limited! As a rotation squad player, ideal option.”
While one fan wrote: “From now on, Jones must be our number 6. This Gravenberch experiment is over. Every game, he’s pinging the ball back to the opposition, or he’s fouling players as if he’s had a lobotomy before kick off.”
Liverpool cannot afford to sell Dominik Szoboszlai this summer
Several of Liverpool’s midfielders have flattered to deceive so far this season, especially compared to the last, but Szoboszlai has stepped up to be one of their best performers in the last six months.
The Hungary international has scored key goals and impressed against Wolves despite the Reds’ loss, and it is clearly imperative that they keep hold of him as Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister struggle.
Sources have told Football Insider that Liverpool remain relaxed about Szoboszlai’s future for now, despite interest in his services from Real Madrid.
