‘He’s not good enough’ – David Moyes plans to replace Everton star in January
Everton have endured a mixed start to the Premier League season so far and are aiming to build on their recent form to push up the table.
David Moyes’ side lost 2-0 to Man City last time out after a brace from Erling Haaland, handing them their second defeat of the season.
The Toffees currently sit in 13th place after eight games, with three wins, two draws and three defeats on their record, and are on track to finish in mid-table.
However, should they wish to further their ambitions of pushing up the table after a strong end to last season, there are a number of key areas in which they have to invest.
This comes after former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider that Moyes is building for the future at Everton and wants to ensure the spine of his team remains strong.

David Moyes plans to replace Beto
Despite making improvements elsewhere on the pitch, Moyes remains determined to strengthen up front amid concerns about Beto‘s performances so far this season.
That is according to former Man United and West Ham senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that work is already ongoing to identify options to replace the 27-year-old.
While there are concerned about the finances involved in landing a new striker, the recruitment team are aiming to identify options who fit their tight budget.
“To put it bluntly, he’s not good enough,” he told Football Insider.
“Every now and then he raises his game a little bit, makes a couple of good runs and gets a couple of goals, but overall he simply isn’t good enough.
“David Moyes can’t wave a magic wand and make him into the perfect striker, and the problem with bringing somebody in is the amount of money you have to spend.
“So they have to work hard to identify somebody who might be available and for the right price.

“Moyes is doing what he can to get the best out of this team, but there’s no doubt he needs a striker who is going to guarantee him a regular source of goals.
“If they can find the right option, it’s something they have to go for because at the moment they’re going to win a few games and they’re going to lose a few games, but they won’t be able to do anything in terms of pushing forward with this squad.”
Meanwhile, some Everton fans have labelled Beto “the worst player in the league” as frustrations continue to grow about their lack of attacking threat.
Everton set sights on new strikers ahead of January window
With work still ongoing behind the scenes, Everton have set their sights on a number of potential striker signings ahead of the January transfer window.
Football Insider revealed on 12 October that Everton are interested in Man United’s Joshua Zirkzee, who could leave Old Trafford in search of regular playing time.
This comes after Wyness told Football Insider on 8 October that Everton want to sign Zirkzee as his age and profile fit in with what they are trying to build.

Meanwhile, Everton have been linked with Newcastle’s Will Osula, who could become available on loan in January as a result of Nick Woltemade’s form.
The Toffees are tracking multiple new strikers with the position emerging as a clear priority to strengthen in January as part of their ambitious plans.
