Heung-Min Son has ‘nasty side’ as Tottenham controversy analysed – pundit
Frank McAvennie has lauded Heung-Min Son for showing his “nasty” side as Tottenham beat Arsenal on Thursday (12 May).
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the controversial battle between the Spurs winger and Rob Holding.
In footage relayed by Sky Sports from Thursday’s game, Holding and Son were involved in a number of incidents in the opening 32 minutes of the game, which culminated in the Arsenal man being sent off.
However, Son appeared to swing an elbow at the defender when the duo were grappling on the floor.
McAvennie has no problem with Son’s actions as he was just giving what he was getting.
“Son was incredible from what I saw of that game,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He is such a good player and it’s no surprise to me that he is up there as one of this season’s top scorers with Mo Salah.
“He had to show some of his nasty side as well. We know he has it, he’s a clever player.
“When someone is all over you like that, as long as you give what you get, I have no problem with it.
“He backed it up with his goal as well. He got one over on the defender then he’s gone and scored.
“He’s clever and you don’t see too much of that these days.”

Son scored Tottenham’s third in the 3-0 win.
He has netted 21 times in 33 appearances in the Premier League this season.
