Hutton lambasts Ryan Kent as ‘dangerous’ Rangers footage analysed
Alan Hutton has claimed a lack of focus from Rangers was part of their downfall against Celtic on Saturday (3 September).
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said players like Ryan Kent needed to “stay switched on” in the Old Firm clash.
As shown on Sky Sports (3 September), the ball went out of play for a Celtic throw in and as Kent protested the decision, the Hoops played the ball quickly and Liel Abada found the back of the net.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side lost 4-0 to their Glasgow rivals.
The Ibrox club are now five points behind Ange Postecoglou’s side in the Scottish top flight.
When asked for his verdict on Kent’s lack of focus for the first goal, Hutton told Football Insider: “I think that was the theme for Rangers.
“You just have to watch Celtic. If you watch them week in week out, you know they start fast, they get the ball in play as soon as possible. We’re all aware of that. So you have to stay switched on.

“I thought Kent overplayed in the corner instead of getting out of the dangerous area. It goes out for the throw in and a number of players switched off, not just him. He was pleading with the ref for the decision to go his way but you have to stay focused.
“It wasn’t just that incident there was a lot in the lead up to the goal that could have been done better.“
