Hyndman delivers Twitter message to Rangers fans ahead of Ibrox bow
By Harvey Byrne
January Rangers signing Emerson Hyndman has shared on Twitter that he is looking forward to making his first competitive appearance for the club on Saturday.
The 20-year-old midfielder made the switch from Premier League side Bournemouth earlier in the month.
He is one of the Gers’ two signings since their last match before the winter break with Jon Toral also joining on loan from Arsenal.
Speaking on his personal Twitter account on Friday evening, Hyndman shared his excitement for stepping out in front of the famous club’s fans for the first time against Motherwell.
Rangers have not played a competitive fixture since the 2-1 New Years Eve defeat against fierce rivals Celtic due to the break.
Their fixture on Saturday will see them host Motherwell in the Scottish Cup fourth round before facing them again in the league at Fir Park a week later.
They currently occupy second place in the Premiership table and although Celtic look clear with 19 points separating them, Aberdeen are hot on their heels with a two-point gap.
Rangers will be eager to finish in the runners-up position in their first season back in the top flight with a place in next season’s Europa League up for grabs.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are in talks with these Bundesliga high-flyers over a £6million deal for assist master.
