Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has hinted that he would like to sign Tottenham star Harry Kane.
The Stamford Bridge boss has waxed lyrical about the 23-year-old striker, who led the Premier League goal scoring charts with Spurs last term.
Kane found the net on 35 occassions in 38 appearances across all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino’s side last season, as they earned their highest ever Premier League finish by coming runners-up to Chelsea.
Conte, 47, also believes that Kane could be worth as much as £100million in today’s market and has hailed the striker’s stunning attributes despite already completing the signing of a striker himself when Alvaro Morata was snapped up for Real Madrid last week.
“For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world,” said Conte in a huge admission, as quoted by the Telegraph.
“If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. He’s a complete player. He’s one of the top strikers in the world.
“If you go to buy Kane now it would be at least £100m. At least. For me, if I see this price for a striker I know for sure he’s a big striker.”
Tottenham are expected to once again challenge for the Premier League title next season and they are currently fourth favourites to take the crown with SkyBet, price at 8/1.
However the north London side are the only team in the entire division to not complete the signing of a new player, despite an obvious need to add strength in depth.
While Kane is by far and away one of the best strikers in England – or even the world, according to Conte – Pochettino doesn’t have much in reserve other than Vincent Janssen, who found it hard to adjust to life at Spurs in his debut season last time out.
