Imminent Wolves attacker loan signing includes option to buy – report

The expected imminent loan signing of Atletico Madrid winger Diogo Jota is to include an option to buy at the end of his stay, according to a report.

The Express and Star have claimed on their website that the 20-year-old left-winger is expected to seal his loan move to the Midlands club on Monday.

Many Wolves fans were wondering whether the club would put in a clause that could the secure Portugal Under-21 international for the long-term future, or if he was just staying for a season.

Now, local news outlet the Express and Star have answered those questions and told that they will have the choice of whether to buy him at the end of his loan spell.

Jota spent the last campaign on loan with Nuno Espirito Santo at Porto, where he scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 38 matches in all competitions.

He has not yet made his senior debut for Atletico Madrid and he may not be able to despite having four years left on his contract in Madrid if Wolves decide to buy him next summer.

Jota has caused excitement among many of the Wolves fan base with the club certainly showing plenty of ambition this summer. But, as mentioned some were worried that they may lose the youngster next summer if he impresses in the Midlands and then returns to the Spanish capital. However, the fact that Wolves have put in an option to buy in the deal means that it is now perfect for the club. Nuno will get another chance to look at the youngster to see if he can adapt to the English game, while Wolves could potentially sign up a player of immense potential next year.
