West Ham duo set to play in FA Cup clash before potential loan moves – report
West Ham youngsters Reece Burke and Josh Cullen are set to play for the Hammers in their FA Cup third round replay versus Shrewsbury Town, and a decision regarding their immediate future is expected shortly after the game.
The impressive duo both played in the first fixture, as the Premier League club could not dispose of their League One opposition.
The pair did not have their six month loan deals extended at Bolton Wanderers, as club Manager David Moyes needed them as cover for his injury depleted side.
However, assistant manager Alan Irvine told Football London that the Hammers would allow the pair to go back out on loan if West Ham had more numbers.
“Phil Parkinson [Bolton manager] is well aware and the boys are well aware too that we are not going to keep them here and sit them in the stand. We will see,” Irvine stated.
It is reported that Bolton are the front runners to resecure the pair should they be allowed to leave.
The West Ham duo impressed at Bolton, Burke making 15 appearances during his six month spell with the Championship side, whereas Cullen appeared 12 times.
They both have the opportunity to build on their already growing reputation this evening, as they’re both expected to feature versus Shrewsbury.
In other West Ham news, it has been reported that one Hammers star is the subject of interest from a Serie A club.
