‘Incredible’, ‘Once in a lifetime’ – Rangers fans react to latest Gerrard transfer report
Steven Gerrard is reportedly interested in bringing West Ham centre-back James Collins to Ibrox, and Rangers fans have flocked onto Twitter to react to the news.
The Scottish Sun has reported that Collins is the new defensive target for Gerrard after he missed out on Martin Skrtel because of the financials.
It was claimed that Fenerbahce wanted £5million for Skrtel and that the player’s wages were also impossible to meet.
Collins, 34, has made 217 appearances for West Ham across two separate stints with the club, and he’s also got 50 caps for Wales, with whom he starred during Euro 2016 as his side were surprise semi-finalists.
He’s adored by West Ham fans but the Mirror reported that they told him he was being released this summer by email.
Rangers fans are in two minds about the move, with some saying he’s too old and slow and others saying that they’d love him on a free.
One fan said that anyone criticising him obviously hasn’t been watching West Ham for the past two years, where he said Collins had been incredible.
