Insider: Man United may have banished Jadon Sancho to sort out ‘disciplinary’ problem as footage emerges
Jadon Sancho may have been sent to the Netherlands by Man United in the break for the World Cup to improve his “disciplinary issues”.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The Manchester Evening News reported last month (24 November) that Sancho was working with Erik ten Hag’s trusted coaches in the Netherlands to help keep fit and refocus.
After a promising start to the season, the 22-year-old has not started for Man United since their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on 22 October and missed out on a place in England’s World Cup squad.
“I’m not so sure that it will give him the edge, as such,” Dinnery told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“We know that he missed the last four games of the first half of the season and the reasons why that was the case are certainly up for discussion. There was reported to be an illness involved but also some disciplinary issues were hinted at, in terms of his timekeeping.
“Yes, he started the season fairly well but then tapered off a little bit.
“There’s a suggestion that his failure to go to the World Cup was maybe brought about because of those off-field attitude issues.
“We know that Erik ten Hag is a disciplinarian and doesn’t stand for a lot. This is maybe his opportunity to get Jadon to tow the line, change the environment and work without any kind of distractions.

“The loss of Cristiano Ronaldo intensifies the players remaining to come in and fill that role, particularly when you are playing on a number of fronts.
“I think for him personally it’s an opportunity to wipe the slate clean and show that he wants to go out and perform.”
In other news, Liverpool fear their senior man is quitting to join Man United.
