Insider suggests what Harry Kane will do next after Tottenham source’s reveal
Harry Kane will be able to psychologically bounce back from his disappointment with England when he next plays for Tottenham.
That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
Kane missed a vital second penalty against Spurs teammate Hugo Lloris as England crashed out of the World Cup with a 2-1 defeat to France in the quarter-finals last week (10 December).
Sources told Football Insider last week (12 December) that Antonio Conte and his staff are in doubt the 29-year-old will bounce back from the disappointment.
The club are already in the process of throwing a veil of protection over the striker and he will return to training this week.
“Nobody knows Harry Kane better than himself,” Dinnery told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“He stood up and was prepared to put himself out there and in the crosshairs by taking responsibility as the captain and leader.
“Let’s look at this in the grand scheme of things. It was a penalty miss, a bad penalty miss and he’ll be the first one to hold his hands up. He buried his first one and I dare say you would have put your money on him doing that second time around.
“Maybe the Hugo Lloris situation, the club teammate and good friend away from the pitch, psychologically had a little bit of a bearing on how he chose to strike that ball.
“I don’t think you can get where you are in football and do what you do consistently at the highest level if you are not of a really strong psychological mindset.
“This penalty will probably haunt him for a long time but for a lot of these players, when you cross that white line, you get on with the game in hand.

“I fully expect that when Tottenham get a spot-kick, Harry Kane will be the first to step up. Even if he misses, he will shake that off.
“There is no doubting his quality and ability. It was just one of those things, a bad day at the office. It’s the pressure of these one-off games and the fact a good friend of his had been studying him for a number of years meant he took one too many chances.”
In other news, a club is close to signing a Tottenham sensation and a 1 January move is expected.
