Insider tips late Wolves bid for Doherty after Tottenham-Traore ‘plan’ fails
Wolves could make a late bid for Tottenham defender Matt Doherty before the window closes.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Football Insider broke the news on Friday afternoon (21 January) that Spurs and Wolves have agreed a fee of £20million plus £2.75m of add-ons for Adama Traore.

He is now discussing personal terms and is expected to complete a Spurs move in the next days.
On 4 January, this site revealed Wolves had bid for their former wing-back, Doherty.
Wenham has predicted Spurs may have been trying to include Doherty’s return to Wolves in the Traore deal.
“Fair play to Matt Doherty, he has really knuckled down,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Conte has to now make realistic decisions ahead of the rest of the season.
“At one point, Tottenham were trying to include Doherty in the offer for Adama Traore.
“That makes so much sense for the club, it sort of kills two birds with one stone.
“I think that was the plan, maybe that’s why there is a bit of a hold-up and he hasn’t been announced yet.
“That being said, there is interest and it wouldn’t surprise me if Wolves came back in with a bid for Traore before the end of the window.
“Maybe they will use the money they get for Traore to bring Doherty back.”

Doherty, 30, has heavily featured for Tottenham in January after struggling for game time.
He started both games against Chelsea in the EFL Cup and played a vital role off the bench against Leicester on Wednesday (19 January).
In other news, Tottenham have been tipped to complete four new signings this weeks after a transfer update from Alasdair Gold.
