‘It’s very difficult’: Jarrod Bowen’s updated stance on West Ham exit revealed

Jarrod Bowen is increasingly likely to leave West Ham United this summer but securing survival in the Premier League will be enough to keep him on.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are still in the relegation zone, but only on goal difference after having caught up to their rivals following a 1-0 win against Fulham.

Just three points now separate the Hammers from 15th-placed Leeds, while they have dragged both Nottingham Forest and Tottenham into precarious positions.

Former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Bowen’s future will be decided by their Premier League status as he remains happy at the London Stadium.

The 29-year-old loves the club and is happy to stay despite a dismal season, but West Ham are fearing a mass exodus if they fail to make it out of the drop zone.

Jarrod Bowen makes new decision about leaving West Ham

Brown told Football Insider last month that Bowen is unlikely to leave West Ham and is keen to stick around, but that cannot be guaranteed if they are relegated.

While that remains the case, issues behind the scenes at the London Stadium had hinted at an early exit, but the winger has no plans to leave as things stand.

It’s very difficult for West Ham and for Jarrod Bowen,” Brown told Football Insider.

“If you asked me last season, or even a few months ago, I would’ve said there was no chance Bowen would be leaving West Ham any time soon.

“He’s happy at the club, he has his connections there, he’s their most important player and the fans love him as well, so that’s all positive.

But this season has been a disaster and recent incidents might change things.

“As far as he is concerned, I don’t think he has any plans to leave West Ham in the near future, the only way will be if they are relegated.

“But they’ve given themselves a good chance of staying up if they can keep up their recent form, because other clubs have really been dragged into it now.

“If they stay up, I don’t think Bowen will leave. There are players they’d sooner let go than him, and I don’t think there’s any way he would push to move on.

“As I said, he’s happy at West Ham and loves the club, he’s not the type of player to push for a move, so as long as they stay in the Premier League, he will be there.”

West Ham financial concerns could force major sales

Despite their hopes of securing survival in the Premier League, growing concerns behind the scenes could mean they have no choice but to move players on.

The Hammers have found themselves in a nightmare situation financially after reporting £104million losses and will need to sell players to balance the books.

Brown told Football Insider that West Ham could be forced to sell Bowen or one of their other star players in an attempt to recoup funds when the window opens.

The club’s financial situation has also thrown his future into doubt, although they are more likely to cash in on fringe players in an attempt to raise funds.

Key players including the likes of El Hadji Malick Diouf and Crysencio Summerville are also among those tipped for departures in what is set to be a busy summer.
