Joe Rodon ‘expected’ to leave Tottenham as new Fabio Paratici quotes emerge – expert

Joe Rodon will be sold by Tottenham in the summer despite being name-checked by Fabio Paratici in a recent interview.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Speaking on Tottenham Hotspur’s YouTube channel (26 March), Paratici discussed some of Spurs’ defenders.

He talked up Eric Dier and Cristian Romero while also naming Rodon as one of the defenders who is “working well” at the club.

Rodon has not played in a Premier League match since 9 September, only making only 8 appearances in all competitions this season.

When asked if Paratici’s comments could be read into, Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild, “I don’t think so.

“He wants to make sure everyone at Tottenham feels included, I have no problem with that.

“Imagine if he hadn’t mentioned him? That would be a bigger deal, for me.

“It didn’t go unnoticed that he played very, very well for Wales the other night.

“I still expect him to move on in the summer and in that regard, his performances for Wales have done him no harm.

“Paratici was just protecting the position of the club and the player ahead of the summer move.”

Ahead of the January window a Spurs source told Football Insider that Rodon had his heart set on leaving the north Londoners, either on loan or permanently, in pursuit of game time.

However, no move transpired.

In other news, there has been a major update on Lucas Moura’s Tottenham future amid the latest on Dejan Kulusevski.
