John Stones, Declan Rice and Kyle Walker react after Man City agree another signing

John Stones and Declan Rice were among the players reacting after Manchester City confirmed yet another summer signing.

Man City’s transfer activity has been relentless ahead of the Club World Cup, with several new faces already through the door.

Rayan Ait-Nouri was the first arrival for Man City earlier in the window, followed by moves for Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders, which were all completed in time for the tournament.

Although the transfer window is now temporarily paused due to Club World Cup regulations, which prevent clubs from registering new players during the competition, deals can still be agreed in principle.

With veteran goalkeeper Scott Carson departing Man City, they had been actively searching for a replacement. Now, they’ve sealed another addition to strengthen their ranks and this time, between the posts.

Man City complete Marcus Bettinelli signing following Scott Carson departure

After four years at Chelsea, Marcus Bettinelli has officially completed a move to Man City and will join up with the squad ahead of the Club World Cup.

While several Chelsea players expressed their emotions over Bettinelli’s departure, he appeared in high spirits after being unveiled at City. He wrote on Instagram: “Absolutely delighted to be here and can’t wait to get started.”

The post was met with plenty of support, with Stones, Arsenal’s Rice, and Tottenham’s James Maddison all liking it.

Kyle Walker, who is set to leave Man City this summer, showed his support by commenting with a blue heart emoji.

Though Bettinelli hasn’t played a competitive match for Chelsea since an FA Cup clash with Chesterfield in January 2022, he remained a valued figure in the dressing room — a quality he’ll look to bring with him to the Etihad.

Bettinelli is expected to arrive as third-choice goalkeeper, but circumstances could see him feature sooner than expected.

Manchester City fans are increasingly convinced Ederson could be on his way out, following reports that the Brazilian is open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

Former financial advisor Stefan Borson has suggested Man City would be willing to accept offers of around £25 million for Ederson this summer. With just one year remaining on his contract, the timing could be right for both parties to agree on a deal.
