Jonjo Shelvey: Ex-Fifa official warns ‘dangerous’ Newcastle star he faces actions from the authorities
A representative from the PGMOL should sit down with Newcastle star Jonjo Shelvey to discuss his conduct.
That’s according to ex-FIFA and Premier League referee Keith Hackett, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the midfielder’s recent performances.
Shelvey, 29, flew into the back of Everton’s Anthony Gordon in the first half of Newcastle’s win on Tuesday (8 February).

The tackle prompted a furious response from some Everton players but Anthony Taylor only gave the midfielder a yellow card.
Hackett told this site on Friday (11 February) that Shelvey deserves an extended ban for the tackle.
He also claims a representative from the PGMOL should sit down with Shelvey to discuss his conduct.
“We know this isn’t the first time this has happened with Shelvey,” Hackett told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“There was a time I went to meet David Moyes after Marouane Fellaini first joined Everton.
“He got something like eight yellow cards in his first 10 games for Everton.
“I went and had this conversation to see what we could do about it because that isn’t good for anyone.
“I think something similar could happen with Shelvey because as I said before, he was lucky to not get sent off, it was dangerous.
“He has a history of these kinds of fouls and it might be worth a member of the PGMOL going to Newcastle to just give Shelvey something to think about if nothing else.”

Everton scored from the free-kick Shelvey gave away but Newcastle recovered to win 3-1.
As a result, the Magpies moved out of the relegation zone for the first time since early October.
