‘Jose Mourinho wants Man United job’ – Fans await return after Jim Ratcliffe reveal

Man United fans are preparing themselves for the dramatic return of Jose Mourinho following his comments on owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Mourinho was a divisive figure during his spell at Old Trafford, having been ultimately unable to steer the ship enough to avoid being sacked himself in 2018.

“The special one” has since managed at Tottenham, and AS Roma, and has now settled at Fenerbahce, a team fighting for the Turkish Super Lig title and putting a run together in the Europa League.

Despite nearly seven years passing since parting ways with the Red Devils, much of the fanbase still loves the 62-year-old, who left an impressionable mark on the frustrated fanbase.

Speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of Fenerbahce’s tie with Rangers, he said: “I don’t know much about what’s happening at Man United… I know Sir Jim Ratcliffe. We have a good relationship.

“I see him as a good person, a great businessman. I feel for some people losing their jobs, hopefully it goes in the right direction,” comments which have gone down rather well with the fans.

Those at Old Trafford are growing restless with the club’s current situation, sitting 14th in the Premier League table, with just five league wins since November.

Ruben Amorim is already under immense pressure at Man United, even despite the warning of a rocky start until the new manager can shape the squad to his needs.

The former Sporting CP man can certainly take some pressure off himself with a Europa League win over Real Sociedad on Thursday 6 March, but it may already be too late for some supporters.

Man United supporters want Jose Mourinho to replace Ruben Amorim

With a 58.33 per cent win record during his time at Old Trafford, no permanent manager has bettered him since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson, which is almost baffling.

Michael Carrick and Ruud van Nistelrooy managed higher but that was always going to be the case after just a handful of matches in charge.

With the pressure starting to bear down on Ratcliffe and his cost-cutting decision at Man United, fans are hopeful that Mourinho’s latest comments mean he wants a return to Manchester.

One fan has stated that United should “never have let Mourinho go”, with multiple others suggesting that the 62-year-old wants another shot at glory at Old Trafford.
